A preset for you!

I share a lot of photos in my Instagram feed and stories, which often receive very good feedback.

Sometimes it takes more than just a camera to take a good picture. Light, position, subject, and colours also play a major role and influence the mediation between object and subject, or image and viewer. Unfortunately, sometimes even that cannot replicate the scene we have imagined and dreamed of. Nevertheless, there is no more beautiful and functional camera than the eye. Because the oculus, the human eye, can capture not only visuals but also emotions.

And yet, with time, patience, and interest, I have learnt a thing or two about photography and editing. I can comfortably admit that I am pretty satisfied with the edits I create with Afterlight and Lightroom. It's a good way to get your first experience and knowledge, especially if you only have your phone. In comparison, film photography can be a little more complex and expensive, as you not only have to understand the theory behind the function but also the film purchase and development costs.

But oh - I know you still want the film grain and nostalgic vibes too, don’t you?!

Understandably, that's how I felt too before I got my hands on an analogue camera. So to spare you with (or at least ease) your trial and error, I was able to create a preset mimicking the appearance of a softened grainy film. I am happy to share my results with you and see what you will create - it's free to download! :-)

Please enjoy it and feel free to tag me so I can see your pictures (@ddaanat) 💌
